ABOUT ME

I'm a software engineer with experience across robotics, infrastructure, and automation. I most recently worked at Verkada on platform infrastructure, improving Terraform-based IaC workflows and building reusable modules. Before that, I spent over two years at Amazon Fulfillment Technologies & Robotics, where I shipped computer vision enabled systems and scaled device management pipelines across large fleets.

I earned my Master's in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Austin with a 3.96 CGPA and my B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, graduating 4th in my department with a 9.62/10 CGPA. My academic journey began in Goa, where I ranked second in the state in the 10th ICSE exams, secured 95.1% in 12th Boards, and earned a 3712 rank in JEE Advanced.

EXPERIENCE

Software Engineer - Verkada

Platform Infrastructure - Worked on improving Terraform based Infrastructure as Code (IaC) workflows by architecting a tfvars driven approach to simplify environment management and Terraform workspaces. Developed reusable AWS Aurora database Terraform modules using ephemeral resources and write only attributes to enhance security by preventing sensitive data from being stored in Terraform state files, while improving scalability, maintainability, and onboarding efficiency across services.

Software Development Engineer - Amazon Fulfillment Technologies & Robotics

  • Launched the Single Camera System, powered by the multi-threaded Docker-based Amazon Robotics Identification (AR-ID) application, in 2 EU Amazon Sort Centres, improving package tracking across the Fulfillment network and enabling labor forecasting based on package volume. The fleet has scaled to more than 100+ workcells across 5+ sites achieving a 75% cost reduction per workcell.
  • Led the revamp of AR-ID’s Cloud Testing infrastructure to run diverse Docker Compose setups, improving scalability, test reliability, and reusability, and enabling early error detection before Hardware In the Loop Testing(HWITL).
  • Created a user-driven Python script to capture images from over 1,000 computer vision assisted human workcell(Decant) events in Amazon Fulfillment Centers (FC) for CV model training, improving model performance and data coverage.
  • Developed a Powershell provisioning script for the AR-ID enabled human workcell (AFE Induct), used on 20 workcells to automate setup, install management software, handle display/login, and NVIDIA configuration for the Alpha launch.
  • Engineered a feature to obtain ACM(AWS Certificate Manager) certificates for Cardinal Manipulation workcell IPCs in FCs, enabling secure TLS communication between IPCs and allowing the workcell to handle customer-sensitive information.
  • Built and managed automated CDK pipelines to deploy latest device management software to 500+ Multicompute Manipulation and Human workcells, cutting update duration to 10 minutes and speeding state transition time by 30%.
  • Performed a deep dive on the workcell management software, identifying AWS services such as S3, IAM, and ECR invoked by the software that could be throttled, and implemented resiliency improvements and robust error handling, including handling MQTT disconnects, preventing potential high-severity issues in production.

Software Development Engineer Intern - Amazon Robotics, Westborough, MA

Developed a MiniHDT package in C to send TCP packets to the MCU on the Scout bot for controlling the Actuators and Ultrasonic sensors. This package ran a TCP server to accept connections from multiple client nodes. Created an Actuator service to send TCP messages to MiniHDT to move the Scout forward, in reverse, turn left etc. Implemented code to orchestrate the Ultrasonic service and Actuator service to make the Scout stop on detecting obstacles.

Geometric Packing - Squares into Disks: Worked on proving NP-hardness of packing given squares into a disc by a reduction from 3-PARTITION. Determined the dimensions of Framing squares. Created illustrations using the Ipe extensible drawing editor. Introduced the concept of free move to facilitate the proof. Showed the uniqueness of packing the Framing Squares into a unit disc central to the required proof.

Undergraduate Researcher - IIT Kharagpur

Worked on Next Sentence Generation. Compared the performance of pretrained Transformer and pretrained RNN based model with the equivalent models trained from scratch. Worked on Feature Evaluation of Dialog Models. Extracted features such as Dialog Acts, Emotion-Empathetic Intent from utterances in dialogues. Trained a feature dynamics model(LSTM) and compared the performance of Pretrained Transformer, Pretrained RNN based model and DialoGPT model by calculating perplexity for their self play chats.
